Every Sunday at 11am EST, we gather for a beautiful morning of music, inspirational storytelling, and intention-setting as we end one week and begin another.
For three years, on the first Tuesday of every month, one hundred perfect strangers — representing different identities, orientations, cultures, and creeds — gathered in a private location in New York City for Touchpoint —a town hall about love, sex, and relationships.
Â
It was a place where people shared real stories of their experiences in bed and in love, exchanged book and podcast recommendations, and explored ideas around partnership, sexuality, and identity. The only rules were that you had to take off your shoes, only one person could speak at a time, and you couldn't dole out advice — only personal experience.
There was no alcohol served because the relationship between sex and booze has been a precarious one throughout history. Instead, attendees were given coconut water, the occasional chocolate, and seated comfortably on cushions and rugs in a candle-lit room.
Â
More than five thousand people attended, over 2200+ questions had been submitted, and 30,000+ subscribers from around the United States read and listened to the stories that emerged from the discussion online.
In March of 2020, as the world went indoors and began practicing social distancing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to bring the Touchpoint Town Hall to the virtual world where anyone could log on and participate.
